Daily Challenges

Each day of the campaign offers a chance to win bonus prizes based on performance — including total dollars raised or number of donors.

All participating organizations are eligible for these daily prizes. In addition, the top-performing organization who purchased a profile in the Indianapolis Monthly Guide to Giving will also be awarded a daily prize. That means Giving Guide organizations have two opportunities to win each day: the overall prize and the exclusive Giving Guide slot.

For more information about Win Limits, see Challenge Rules below. Prize winners will be posted by 12pm the following day.

  2. All Indianapolis area 501(c)3 legally IRS registered nonprofit organizations are eligible to participate in this giving event. Only organizations that register with https://www.indianapolisgives.org will be eligible to receive donations. Please note that private non-operating foundations are not eligible to participate.
    1. Eligible charitable organizations (“Eligible Recipients”) are U.S.-based, preferably Indiana based or that have a significant presence in Indiana, tax-exempt public charities under Code sections 501(c)(3) and 170(b)(1)(a)(ii), 170(b)(1)(a)(iv), 170(b)(1)(a)(vi), 509(a)(2) or 509(a)(3), excepting 509(a)(3) Type 3 organizations, of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code and are not terrorist organizations under Code section 501(p)(2). Eligible charities, for example, may include education, cultural, social service, environmental or select health organizations.
    2. Ineligible Organizations: Organizations that promote hate, discrimination, or engage in illegal activities are ineligible. Also, public charities that mainly support religion or politics.
  3. Organizations will be categorized into two (2) groups for the purposes of prize eligibility: “General Organizations” and “Giving Guide Organizations.” An organization may qualify under both categories.
    1. Organizations in the General Organizations category will be eligible to receive one (1) Grand Prize, any applicable Full-Length Bonus Challenge, and up to two (2) Daily Bonus Challenge prizes. Once an organization has received two (2) Daily Bonus Challenge prizes, it will no longer be eligible for additional Daily Bonus Challenge prizes.
    2. Organizations in the Giving Guide Organizations category are subject to the same rules, with the exception that they may receive up to three (3) Daily Bonus Challenge prizes.
      1. If a Giving Guide organization wins the General Organization prize + the Giving Guide prize for a particular day, this counts as 2 wins towards their limit. If a Giving Guide organization only wins the General Organization prize OR the Giving Guide prize for a particular day, that counts as 1 win towards their limit.
  4. In the event of a tie for any Grand Prizes, Full Length Challenges, or Daily Challenges, the prize will be awarded based on a secondary metric from the same time period.
    1. If a prize is based on most unique online donors, the tie will be broken by comparing the total online dollars raised during that time frame.
    2. If a prize is based on total online dollars raised, the tie will be broken by the number of unique online donors during that same period.
  5. Donations must be made online by a credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, GooglePay, Paypal, or ACH* through the Challenge website in order to count towards a grand prize or bonus challenge (no offline donations - e.g. cash or check).
    1. *ACH payment method does not support Donor Advised Funds
  6. Donations must be made within the Challenge or Bonus Challenge timeframes to count towards that particular prize. Any donations made outside of those timeframes will still be sent to your nonprofit but will not count towards prizes.
  7. An organization may not make a donation to its own campaign to help secure a prize. Proxy donations (employees making donations using the organization's credit card to the campaign page) are also not allowed.
  8. An organization must have a minimum of 10 unique donors to be eligible to win a Grand Prize. An individual that makes more than one donation to a nonprofit's campaign will only count as one unique donor.
  9. All prize winners (for Grand Prizes and Bonus Challenges) will be posted by 12:00pm EST on the day following the completion of the challenge. Any individual may donate. Donations made through https://www.indianapolisgives.org to nonprofit organizations are 100% tax deductible and irrevocable. Donations will not be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit card, debit card, ApplePay, GooglePay, PayPal, or ACH. Checks and Donor Advised Funds are not accepted for this online giving event.

Matching Grants: This campaign encourages organizations to offer their own dollar-for-dollar matching funds on their individual https://www.indianapolisgives.org pages.
