Every child deserves the opportunity to be heard, understood, and connected to the world around them.
Founded in 1837, St. Joseph Hearing + Speech empowers children with hearing loss to develop the listening, spoken language, and literacy skills they need to thrive. In Indiana, we partner with children and families during some of the most critical years of a child’s development, providing specialized Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) therapy, access to hearing technology, and individualized coaching that equips parents and caregivers to become their child’s strongest advocates.
The impact reaches far beyond the therapy room. It’s a child hearing a parent’s voice, sharing their first conversation, building friendships, participating in the classroom, and discovering what’s possible for their future.
Today, St. Joseph serves more than 475 children and families each year through early intervention, preschool and primary education, mainstream support, speech-language services, and teletherapy. Our Indiana programs reach families across 44 counties, including those in rural communities who may otherwise struggle to access specialized care.
No family should have to navigate a child’s hearing loss alone, and no child should miss out on opportunities because of the cost of care. We are committed to making our services accessible, offering financial assistance so families can receive the support their children need.
Together, we can make a lifetime of conversations possible. Your support helps Indiana children build communication skills, confidence, independence, and meaningful connections that will last a lifetime.
