Musical Family Tree is a non-profit dedicated to connecting artists and audiences in Indiana.

We nurture local artists, preserve our original music legacy, and build a shared community of music makers & music lovers.

MFT has been serving artists and audiences in central Indiana for 20 years. We maintain an archive of music created by local artists featuring hundreds of artists and thousands of songs. For the most part, this music is only available on MFT.

We provide a weekly central-Indiana show round up, Listen Local. We create new music through programs like EP in a Weekend. We serve as a resource connecter for the music community to civic infrastructure.

MFT celebrated our 20th anniversary October 11-12, 2024 in Bloomington, Indiana with a 2-day festival that saw the reunions of many of the bands that were initially part of the MFT archive. And from November 1-3, 2024, MFT partnered with INSPIRE Music Collective, Indy Arts Council and Visit Indy to coordinate over 125 live music and spoken word performances as part of Swift City to coincide with Taylor Swift's concerts in Indianapolis.
