Indiana Musicians Need You!

For over 20 years, Musical Family Tree (MFT) has been the vital hub for Indiana music—preserving its history, promoting its present, and investing in its future. In 2025, we reopened our online Indiana music archive to new submissions thanks to a new partnership with the Monroe County Public Library, promoted 32 local women musicians during the WNBA All-Star weekend, awarded 5 recording studio grants, and produced 3 local music showcases. Now, we’re asking for your help to keep the volume turned up to go bigger in 2026!

We are launching our annual 10-day fundraising campaign as part of Indianapolis Gives, and our goal is ambitious but achievable: $10,000 in 10 Days!

Your support goes directly to the preservation, promotion, and production of Indiana music.

Every dollar you contribute ensures that:

• Preservation: Our massive online archive—a free, streaming library of thousands of Indiana-made albums—remains available and protected for future generations.

• Promotion: We continue to spotlight local artists through blog articles, social media posts, playlists, and live "popup" performances.

• Production: We provide resources and opportunities for local musicians, including subsidized studio time and local music showcase events.

The minimum donation for the Indianapolis Gives Challenge is $5. There is no maximum donation limit. Your donation of:

• $50 pays for 1 month of web hosting for our online music archive 

• $100 pays for a new Shure SM57 or SM58 microphone for live popup performances

• $250 pays for an artist to perform during a Local Music Showcase

• $500 pays for a half day of studio time for a local artist

• $750 pays for a new powered PA speaker for live popup performances

• $1,000 pays for a day of studio time for a local artist
