$1,000 Goal

Marilyn's Place provides free clothing, winter wear, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and many other donated items for persons and families in need of assistance.  Our purpose is to provide equitable access to quality-of-life necessities not typically available through food and other similar pantries.

Our mission is to support and affirm the dignity and self-esteem of all our clients through a freedom-of-choice model.  Allotting voucher points according to household size, we offer a patron-choice shopping experience.  And in this way, we strive to help alleviate or even eliminate any stigma, sometimes associated with seeking aid.

Each year, hundreds of families come to us for help.  Individuals, parents and single parents, persons recently emerging from incarceration or on work release, the homeless, the unemployed and underemployed, those on social security or disability, and many others face any number of obstacles, including how to obtain adequate clothing and other necessities.  By providing free non-food commodities, Marilyns's Place can help alleviate these burdens.

Marilyn's Place is unique in any number of ways.  We are open five days a week and operate year-round, unlike many food and other similar pantries that are only accessible four days a month or limit their patrons to shop only once or twice a month, for example. Nor do we limit our services to only those residing within Hamilton County, as many other pantries in this area require.  We serve all of our surrounding counties and communities, including Indianapolis, Anderson, and Westfield, and have clients who have emigrated from Mexico, Venezuela, Iraq, Russia, and Ukraine.  Marilyn's Place will never turn anyone away, regardless of where they reside.  If you come to us, we will help you to the best of our ability.
