25 YEARS OF UNITING INDIANA AGAINST CANCER

Our mission is to provide meaningful support to cancer patients, education to promote cancer prevention and resources to advance research for a cure.

SUPPORT

The Heroes Foundation provides funding for basic needs assistance to organizations that work directly with cancer patients. This includes groceries, gas, medicine, transportation, and utility/housing assistance for those who qualify.

  • 779 unique patients helped.
  • 754 gift cards for gas, groceries, etc. distributed.
  • 700+ LEGO sets distributed at Indiana children's hospitals (part of our Team JOEY program).
  • Supported the 8th Annual CompleteLife Art Show.

PREVENTION

Cancer prevention comes in many forms, from empowering individuals to lead healthy lifestyles to preventing a cancer diagnosis through advanced medicine. That’s why the Heroes Foundation provides funding to multiple programs and people leading the way in Indiana.

  • $58,497 was raised during this year's Fit4Heroes by company teams, solo participants, and Team Hero Cyclists. In December these dollars are disbursed to local programs, education, and outreach efforts. 

RESEARCH

Each year the Foundation invests in academic and clinical cancer research at Indiana based universities and institutions. 

• IMPACT IN 2025...
  • Ongoing support of research projects, including work by Jennifer Belsky, DO, MS, at IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center. Funding from the Foundation's Team JOEY program helps support her research and work to decrease the detrimental side effects of cancer therapy that children and teens experience. 

HOLISTIC AND CANCER-AGNOSTIC

No one person, organization or service can fulfill all of the Indiana cancer community’s needs. For these reasons, the Heroes Foundation raises money annually and distributes it to Indiana-based organizations that provide services that positively impact Hoosier cancer patients, caregivers, survivors, and scientists working towards a cure. Furthermore, our funding supports patients regardless of whether they have prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, leukemia, or another type of cancer. 

HOW YOU CAN HELP

An estimated 42,150 Hoosiers will be diagnosed with cancer in 2025, and of these, an estimated 14,080 will lose their lives. (American Cancer Society).
